Many American film stars were present to grace the red carpet, network and talk the business of film. One of the questions lurking after the one week long festival is whether the Middle East will be the next big film market, much like Hollywood and Bollywood. AFP reports mixed results but you should also check out CNN’s coverage from last year that seems to imply the Middle East, in terms of film, is a market to watch.

Many times, it can feel like we live in isolated areas of the world in our own little corner with no interaction with the world when in fact, that is far from the truth. Technology has truly made us very interconnected and interdependent on each other. Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), one of the leading film festivals in the Middle East, Asia and Africa is a festival that demonstrates how small the world really is.

DIFF is a major international film festival where filmmakers and celebrities from all over the world gather for one week of fun, parties, showing off in the most amazing fashions, attending premieres and of course handling the serious business of film i.e. seminars, workshops, events and so forth.

DIFF now into its sixth year is also particularly unique because it is the premiere platform for introducing the best of the best Arab filmakers and movies to the world.
