Chris Kattan’s “Bollywood Hero” New York Premiere

August 4th, 2009, New York City, Chris Kattan, Seth Meyers, former Miss India/Actress Pooja Kumar and Actress Neha Dhupia were among some of the stars present at the New York premiere of “Bollywood Hero” held at the Rubin Museum of Art.

In Bollywood Hero, lead actor Comedian Chris Kattan plays himself, sort of, in a scripted comedy. He is an American actor fed up of constant rejection in Hollywood. In a desperate attempt to revive his career, he packs his bags and travels to Bollywood to star in a Bollywood musicial. The result is a very funny film as he is thrown in the highly competitive dog eat dog world of Bollywood where he ultimately finds himself, finds love and learns how to dance, Bollywood style.

“Bollywood Hero” was filmed over ten weeks on location in Mumbai, India and also features Kattan’s co-stars Maya Rudolph, Julian Sands, Neha Dhupia, Pooja Kumar, Rachna Shah, Ali Fazal and Ruma Sengupta.

Deepika Padukone, Bollywood’s Hottest Newcomer

Twenty three year old Danish born Indian actress and model Deepika Padukone is one of the fresh new faces in Bollywood. She is quickly, nevertheless, making a name for herself with her talent and gorgeous looks.

Deepika’s big break in Bollywood came when she starred in Farah Khan’s hit movie “Om Shanti Om.” The film which dealt with reincarnation and love featured Bollywood’s A-list actor Shahrukh Khan as lead actor with Deepika playing lead actress. The film which grossed over 17-million in India and over 4-million overseas has firmly placed Deepika in the top list of film actresses in Bollywood, worldwide.

You really, really would have to be hiding under a rock not to know the absolutely “swexy” hunk that is Hrithik Roshan. Definitely one of Bollywood’s finest in looks and acting skills, Hrithik Roshan began acting in the 1980s and immediately won the hearts of Bollywood fans worldwide with his commanding and mesmerizing screen presence. He has won awards too numerous to count and appeared in Billboards, Tv commercials and numerous campaigns for major companies.

If you haven’t done this yet, check out your nearest Indian film store or cinema and see if you can catch some of his strong works like: Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Koi… Mil Gaya and Dhoom 2. An absolute must is his performance in Jodhaa Akbar where he plays the leading role alongside leading actress Aishwarya Rai. Simply phenomenal!

2009 International Indian Film Academy Awards Red Carpet & Winners

Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Bipashu Bapu, Sophie Choudry were some of India’s Bollywood stars that came out for the 10th Annual International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) at the exotic Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. Hrithik Roshan walked away with Style Icon of the Decade, Shah Rukh-Star of the Decade (Male), Aishwarya Rai-Star of the Decade (Female) and the film Jodaa Akbar starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya walked away with six (6) awards! .

IIFA is a unique award geared towards promoting Indian Cinema globally. To that end, each year, the award takes place in a different country. It has so far traveled to Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Sun City and Yorkshire.
