Japanese actress Saki Takaoka began her career as a singer but she didn’t exactly “Wow” her audience. Still dabbling in the creative world, Takaoka turned to modeling, modeling for a nude photobooks. Did that get her attention? You betcha! Takaoka later found her “voice” in acting. Her segue into acting has impressed many and she has starred in many Japanese movies including Nezu no ban (寝ずの番, 2006), Kanashiki Tenshi (悲しき天使, 2006), A Long Walk (長い散歩, 2006), Like a Dragon (龍が如く 劇場版, 2007), Waiting for Good News (Kafu wo Machiwabite 2009), Echo of Silence (Kotoba no Nai Fuyu 2008), Samurai Gangsters (Jirocho sangokushi 2008), Memo (2008) and Last Words (Koi suru nichiyobi watashi, Koishita 2007).
Takaoka prepares to make her USA debut in the U.S.-Japan produced film “The Harima Bridge,” thanks to the interest taken by Hollywood Actor Danny Glover in her work. “The Harima Bridge” is directed by Aaron Woolfolk and produced by Danny Glover and will be in theaters in the USA this year, 2009.
