Charice Pempengco looks like an average teen busy doing what teens do i.e. attend school, worry about boys and have fun! But Pempengco is not your average teen! The seventeen year old filipino has powerful vocals that cuts across age, race and all kinds of demographics to connect in a deeply rich way with millions who hear her voice.

“You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself. You’re pulling it up out of some place deeper than your little body,” Oprah recently told Pempengcowho appeared on her show and performed. Indeed.

Charice was born and raised in the Philippines to a mom who herself is a singer. Her mom recognizing her vocal abilities began teaching her proper vocal techniques and entering music competitions across the phillipines. But, the big break came when one of her die hard fans began
posting her performances on YouTube. Thirteen(13) million hits later and with the US market noticing, Charice began receiving requests and has appeared and performed on Ellen DeGeneres Show, Oprah Winfrey, David Foster and Friends PBS. Charice has also performed with Andrea Bocelli (“The Prayer”) in Tuscany and Celine Dion at her Madison Square Garden show in New York City. She also has a role in the new movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and prepares to debut her CD which she is currently working on in Los Angeles, very soon.
